History

The Sacramento Bee included the Winters truck in a list of a writer's five favorite taco stops in the Sacramento region, noting that the business also operates a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Dixon. Winters lies west of Davis at the edge of the Sacramento Valley's orchard country.

The Bee recommended two fillings in particular: pollo asado, or grilled marinated chicken, and buche, pork stomach that is slowly braised until tender and then crisped. Like most Valley trucks, it serves tacos on corn tortillas with onion, cilantro and salsa, alongside burritos and other standard items. On the Bee's list it was the only pick outside Sacramento and its suburbs, chosen as a reason to drive into the countryside.
