Overview

La Silla Rota's 2022 list of taquerías to visit in Veracruz places Güero Tacos on Avenida Artículo 123 in colonia Casas Tamsa, without giving a founding date or owner. The list, written by Víctor M. Toriz for La Silla Rota Veracruz, was published for Día del Taco, the informal taco day observed in Mexico on 31 March.

The menu includes birria, quesabirrias, tacos of suadero, flautas and very large birria sandwiches called emparedados. Birria is a chile-stewed meat dish from western Mexico, and the quesabirria adds melted cheese.

The port of Veracruz and neighboring Boca del Río form a single metropolitan area whose taquerías range from market stalls and tacos de guisado to al pastor trompos and Veracruz-style pibil and barbacoa.
