Las Kekas de Polanco

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Las Kekas de Polanco is a street quesadilla and taco stand in Polanco, Mexico City, known for griddled pastor tacos.

Overview

Chilango describes Las Kekas as a quesadilla stand on the corner by the Red Cross building in Polanco, at Benito Pérez Galdós 120. Besides quesadillas (kekas is slang for them), it sells a taco de pastor planchado, in which the marinated pork is finished on the griddle and served with pineapple and cilantro; Chilango also recommends the suadero. On Sundays the stand sells only quesadillas.

Context

Chilango's 2023 feature En busca del taco más chilango chose one representative taquería for each of fifteen zones of the capital and its suburbs, favoring neighborhood spots over viral ones. Las Kekas represented the Polanco, Nuevo Polanco and Lomas zone, where street stands feed office workers among the district's upscale restaurants.
