Los Consentidos del Barrio
Los Consentidos del Barrio is a tacos al carbón restaurant in the Tlacoquemécatl del Valle neighborhood of Mexico City with a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Overview
The name translates roughly as the spoiled ones of the neighborhood. The restaurant sits on a second floor reached by stairs, with a wood-and-black dining room warmed by a built-in charcoal grill and a large patio with high tables. It has held a Bib Gourmand since the first Michelin Guide Mexico in 2024, although its inclusion was questioned by Texas Monthly writer José R. Ralat.
Menu
The specialty is tacos al carbón: meat thinly sliced, grilled over charcoal and then diced for the tortilla. Arrachera with a pink center is the cut Michelin recommends. Vegetarian choices include strips of poblano chile, nopales and mushrooms, and rajas con queso is a common order.
