Los Laureles
Los Laureles is a Guadalajara taco restaurant on Avenida México, in business since 1973, serving pastor, grilled meats and Yucatecan-style pibil.
Overview
Gastrolab describes Los Laureles as a restaurant rather than a street taquería. Its original location is at Avenida México 2605, and it later opened a branch in the Mercado Andares food hall. It has been operating since 1973.
Menu
The menu combines Guadalajara taquería standards with dishes from other regions. It offers pastor, carne asada, arrachera and beef tongue (lengua de res), as well as cochinita pibil, pollo al pibil and pechuga. There are also queso fundido and antojitos.
Pibil dishes, slow-cooked in achiote and citrus, come from the Yucatán Peninsula. Lengua and pastor are among the most common orders in Guadalajara taquerías.
Gastrolab included it in a 2021 roundup of Guadalajara taco stops that ranged from steamed-taco stands to a 24-hour taquería.
