Ponte Trucha Negro is a seafood restaurant in Santa Teresita, Guadalajara, whose menu is built around shrimp and fish tacos, tostadas and zarandeado dishes.

Overview

Ponte Trucha Negro is at Calle Ignacio Ramírez 646 in Santa Teresita, away from Guadalajara's usual tourist circuit. It has a large menu, and long waits even in mid-afternoon. A 2026 travel piece described it as plain in decor, with dishes arriving together rather than in courses and no late hours. Will Fly for Food listed hours of 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and until 6:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday after a 2022 visit.

Shrimp is the specialty. The tacos include the taco negro, with shrimp and black beans on a wheat tortilla; the presidente, pressed shrimp and cheese on a corn tortilla; the taco ajo, a garlic fish fillet; and the chuza, shrimp and cheese on a flour tortilla. The kitchen also serves taco chupe zarandeado, tostadas of tuna and marlin ceviche, half tortas zarandeadas with shrimp, shrimp aguachile and grilled oysters. Zarandeado is the Pacific coast style of grilling seafood in a wire basket after coating it with seasoning.
