Rudy's Fresh Mexican Food

Rudy's Fresh Mexican Food is a family of Mexican restaurants in Santa Barbara County, California, whose original West Beach location dates to 1976.

History

According to Visit Santa Barbara, the original Rudy's opened in the West Beach area in 1976. The business later added locations in the Presidio District, on Upper State Street and in Buellton. A 2015 Santa Barbara Independent survey listed a Rudy's at West Montecito Street.

Menu

The signature taco combines grilled poblano chile, mushrooms, onion and cheese with the diner's choice of meat. The restaurants are also known for fish and shrimp tacos. Visit Santa Barbara places the original shop in the waterfront section of its taco trail, alongside East Beach Tacos and Mony's in the nearby Funk Zone, which makes it one of the older surviving names among the city's beach-area taco counters. The Buellton branch extends the business into the Santa Ynez Valley.
