Tacos Beyrut is a taquería in the historic center of Puebla, founded in 1976, that serves tacos árabes of charcoal-roasted pork on pan árabe along with falafel and jocoque.

History

Tacos Beyrut opened in 1976 in Puebla's Centro Histórico. Its founder was José Maccise Saade, known as Pepito Maccise. According to the business, the restaurant was recognized in 2006, during the celebrations of the city's 475th anniversary, as part of Puebla's living history and food identity.

Fifty years after the original opened, a second branch was added in 2026 in the Angelópolis area, at Osa Mayor 2902 in the Reserva Territorial Atlixcáyotl. Orders for delivery or pickup at that branch can be placed through the company's own app.

The core of the menu is cabeza de lomo de cerdo cooked on a charcoal trompo and served either in pan árabe or on corn tortillas, with a cheese version and a torta also offered. The house says it uses smaller trompos than its competitors and serves the meat with onion. A meat-free falafel taco on pan árabe is made from chickpeas each day. Jocoque, the strained dairy condiment of Puebla's Lebanese community, comes in a runny and a dry style made from same-day Jersey milk. The kitchen also prepares its own chipotle salsa and pickled cauliflower, and offers baklava with vanilla ice cream and aguas frescas of horchata and jamaica.
