Overview

Chilango chose this taquería, at Guadalupe I. Ramírez 25 in barrio San Antonio, Xochimilco, to represent the Xochimilco, Milpa Alta and Tláhuac zone. Its tacos al pastor carry a thin smear of refried beans on the tortilla, a detail the magazine called its signature. The owners still serve customers themselves. It opens for a few hours in the evening.

Context

Xochimilco, in the far south of the capital, keeps a more village-like food culture than the central boroughs. Chilango's 2023 feature En busca del taco más chilango chose one representative taquería for each of fifteen zones of the capital and its suburbs, favoring neighborhood spots over viral ones. Refried beans on the tortilla add body and help hold the meat together.
