Also known as: Hola El Güero

Tacos Hola El Güero is a guisado taquería on Avenida Ámsterdam in Mexico City's Hipódromo neighborhood, open since 1968 and listed in the Michelin Guide.

Overview

Hola El Güero has served tacos de guisado on the tree-lined Avenida Ámsterdam, on the edge of La Condesa, since 1968. It was featured in Netflix's Taco Chronicles and has been listed in the Michelin Guide Mexico since its first edition. Customers order at a counter and eat standing or at a few small outdoor tables.

A long row of clay pots holds stewed fillings, both meat and vegetarian. Diners choose single or double tortillas and add toppings. Michelin highlighted the picadillo of ground meat and potato under creamy green salsa, avocado and cotija, and chorizo with potato on larger tortillas with black beans. Rajas con crema is another frequent order.
