Tacos Los Poblanos #1 Estilo Tijuana

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Los Poblanos #1 Estilo Tijuana is a nighttime Tijuana-style taco stand on Avalon Boulevard in South Los Angeles known for carne asada grilled over mesquite charcoal.

Overview

The Infatuation calls it one of the older Tijuana-style stands in Los Angeles. It operates in the evening, closing around midnight, and is closed early in the week. Taqueros grill beef over mesquite charcoal, chop it with cleavers in front of customers and wrap each taco in paper. Time Out groups it with the nearby Tire Shop Taqueria and lists a Hollywood outpost on Cahuenga Boulevard.

Carne asada tacos topped with a thick guacamole are the main order. The stand also makes a vampiro, a crisped tortilla with melted cheese, filled with chorizo, and tacos árabes on large flour tortillas. Salsas are applied by the taqueros, and agua de jamaica is served alongside.
