Tacos Paco, also called Los del Malibrán, is a carnitas and taco stand in the Malibrán market of Veracruz with a second location downtown.

Overview

La Silla Rota reported in 2021 that Tacos Paco is as old as the Mercado Malibrán, the wholesale market of the port of Veracruz, and is a standard stop for anyone visiting it. Hours were given as 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and until 3 p.m. on weekends. A 2022 La Silla Rota list mentions a second location on calle Rayón in the center of the city.

The stand sells carnitas, cueritos (pork skin) and tacos al pastor, and carnitas by the kilo. Tacos come on handmade corn tortillas with maciza (lean meat) or surtida (mixed cuts), radishes, onion, cilantro and salsas made in the molcajete.

The port of Veracruz and neighboring Boca del Río form a single metropolitan area whose taquerías range from market stalls and tacos de guisado to al pastor trompos and Veracruz-style pibil and barbacoa.
