Tacos Pipeye

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Pipeye is a taco business on North Milpas Street in Santa Barbara, California, that began as a semi-permanent taco truck and later became a brick-and-mortar shop known for handmade tortillas.

History

In 2015 the Santa Barbara Independent described Pipeye as a semi-permanent truck parked on the 500 block of Milpas Street with tables set out in the lot, open late into the evening. Visit Santa Barbara's later taco trail says the business has since moved into a permanent storefront, and that locals line up there for breakfast and lunch.

Tortillas are made by hand. Early coverage highlighted a poblano-and-cheese taco, chorizo with potato, and inexpensive watermelon juice. The current shop is known for colorful salsas and a multi-taco special built around barbacoa, carnitas and buche.
