Taquería El Poblano (Chula Vista)

Taquería El Poblano is a birria and beef-and-pork taco truck that shares the Over the Border lot at Fourth Avenue and Main Street in Chula Vista with the seafood truck El Cacho.

Overview

El Poblano joined El Cacho Fish Tacos in the Over the Border parking lot at Fourth Avenue and Main Street soon after the seafood truck arrived. As the San Diego Reader reported in September 2020, it stayed open through the first five weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, saw business slow during the shutdown, and then rebounded once Chula Vista allowed outdoor seating in parking lots; the truck put up a large tent to give diners covered seating. A 2021 Reader feature quoted a local recommending Tacos El Poblano in Chula Vista for traditional street tacos.

Menu

The truck focuses on beef and pork, with birria as its specialty. The Reader's writer ordered a quesabirria, a griddled taco with melted cheese and stewed beef. In 2020 the truck operated all day every day except Monday.
