Taquería La Pasadita
Taquería La Pasadita is a family taquería in the historic center of San Luis Potosí that began on the steps of the Mercado Hidalgo around 1970 and is known for tacos rojos.
History
Juana Cervantes started the taquería on the steps of the Mercado Hidalgo. El Universal San Luis Potosí reported in 2022 that it had 52 years of history, had supported four generations of the family and provided work for twelve families. Her grandson Jaime Martínez, a lawyer, cooks after his court hours, and a relative, Don Fausto, credits its longevity to care and consistent quality. Nephews and grandchildren also work there. The paper gave hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Menu
Tacos rojos are the most requested dish. Tacos rojos, also called tacos potosinos, are tortillas dipped in a red chile sauce, briefly fried and rolled around cheese, then served with fried potato and carrot, lettuce, cream and cheese, often with cueritos (pickled pork skin) or chicken on the side. Customers choose chicken, pork or a chile relleno as the accompaniment. The menu also includes flautas, enchiladas, tostadas, quesadillas, taquitos de machitos and bistec.
