Taquería Los Chilangos
Taquería Los Chilangos is a pastor taquería in Mexico City's Centro Histórico with a trompo facing the street.
Overview
Time Out México reviewed Taquería Los Chilangos at Motolinía 21 in the Centro, noting the trompo of al pastor visible from the street. Besides pastor tacos the menu ran to tortas, including a chilanga stuffed with pastor, ham, pineapple and cheese, and alambres, among them a house version with arrachera and shrimp. Other dishes included the house frijoles, shrimp broth and queso fundido, plus blue-corn quesadillas made by hand.
Context
The review dates from 2016, and current details may differ. The Centro Histórico has a long tradition of taquerías feeding shoppers and office workers around the Zócalo. Alambres are griddled mixtures of meat, peppers, onion and cheese eaten with tortillas.
