Tequila's Taqueria
Tequila's Taqueria is a taquería on South Livermore Avenue in Livermore that a San Francisco Chronicle survey of Tri-Valley taquerías named best taco and best carnitas.
Overview
The restaurant was included in a San Francisco Chronicle guide to the tacos of Livermore and Pleasanton by freelance writer Nicholas Boer, published around 2014. Boer tasted his way through ten taquerías and trucks in the two cities and awarded Tequila's the categories of best overall taco and best carnitas. Despite the name, at the time of the survey the restaurant served beer but not tequila.
Menu
Carnitas, pork slowly cooked in fat until tender and crisp at the edges, were the standout. The restaurant also kept a self-serve bar of chips and salsas. Like the other taquerías in the survey, it was open for lunch and dinner daily, with tacos priced in the low single digits. Details of the menu and service come from the 2014-era review and may have changed since.
