Tijuanazo
Tijuanazo is a Tijuana-style taquería on South Atlantic Boulevard in East Los Angeles, the Los Angeles outpost of a taco chain from Tijuana.
Overview
The Infatuation describes Tijuanazo as part of a popular Tijuana taco chain and notes that its sibling restaurant, Taquería Frontera in Cypress Park, is run by another of the founder's children. Time Out credits the East Los Angeles restaurant to Antonio Esquivel, whom it describes as a culinary veteran. It is a casual counter-service room, and tacos arrive with their own paired condiments rather than from a salsa bar.
Menu
Adobada roasted on a spit is the house specialty, served as tacos and as a vampiro. Other options include cabeza, a taco azteca made with lengua, a birria quesataco and carne asada, and Time Out mentions fantasmas. Each taco is individually wrapped before it is handed over.
