Overview

Tomate occupies Avenida Chapultepec Sur 361 in Colonia Americana, on the avenue that is one of Guadalajara's busiest nightlife strips. Lonely Planet describes it as a busy sit-down taquería where lines form at mealtimes but move quickly. World of Tacos reports that the pastor is served until 1 a.m. on weekends.

Pastor is the main draw: pork marinated with achiote, cooked on a vertical spit and served with pineapple. Gastrolab mentions a special adobo. Diners can order the meat by the kilo with unlimited corn tortillas and all the trimmings, a format México Desconocido describes as tacos for sharing, and a salsa bar sits in the dining room. Strawberry and red-fruit lemonades are among the drinks.

Gastrolab included Tomate in its 2021 Guadalajara taco route, and México Desconocido listed it again in 2026.
