Tortilla and Taco Factory
Tortilla and Taco Factory (TNT) is an El Cajon taco shop that also serves as the central tortilla maker for the City Tacos group, known for borrego en su jugo and al pastor.
Overview
The shop is located at 130 South Mollison Avenue in El Cajon. According to the San Diego Reader's 2019 taco issue, it is part of the City Tacos business founded by Gerry Torres, and it produces the tortillas used across that company's restaurants. The Reader listed it again in its 2018 roundup under the name Tortilla N' Taco Factory, and it is often referred to by the initials TNT.
Menu
Specialties named by the Reader include borrego en su jugo, lamb served in its own broth; al pastor; and a house TNT shrimp taco. In 2019 tacos ranged from about two dollars to just under four. Because the kitchen makes tortillas for the wider group, fresh tortillas are central to the experience, and the menu overlaps with the creative, chef-driven style that made City Tacos known.
