Los Pericos is an inexpensive tacos al pastor stand on the border of the Narvarte and Del Valle neighborhoods of Mexico City, open since 2009.

Overview

Chilango's taco tour of Narvarte lists Los Pericos at Enrique Rébsamen 701-A and says it has been serving customers since 2009. Its fame rests on price: Chilango reported pastor tacos at 4 pesos each in 2017, and Time Out México, which placed it in Del Valle, noted that tacos had originally cost 2 pesos.

Time Out also observed that seating is scarce and that diners should arrive early or be ready to wait. Its pastor tacos are small, inexpensive and sold in quantity, a format that has made the stand a neighborhood fixture.

Context

Narvarte and Del Valle, in the Benito Juárez borough, are among the Mexico City districts with the most taquerías, many of them specializing in pastor. Prices quoted in older guides have since risen.
