Overview

Tacos al Vapor Oscar operates several outlets in the Guadalajara metropolitan area. México Desconocido's 2026 guide lists them at Calle Aguamarina 1985 in La Giralda, Avenida Valle de Atemajac 1975 in Residencial del Valle, Avenida del Tesoro 1978 in Cerro del Tesoro and Avenida Tepeyac 2310 near Mariano Otero.

The tacos are steamed, the style also called sudados or de canasta, in which filled tortillas are stacked and kept warm so they soften in their own steam. Standard fillings are chicharrón, papa (potato) and carne con mole. On Saturdays the shops add tacos de camarón a la diabla, shrimp in a spicy red sauce, which is uncommon in a steamed taco.

Steamed tacos are a breakfast staple in Guadalajara, where they are typically eaten with pickled chiles and vegetables.
