Tacos Atarantados

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Atarantados is a taquería in the Las Lajas area of Monterrey, Nuevo León, known for trompo tacos topped with chicharrón.

Overview

Posta included Tacos Atarantados in a five-stop taco route through Monterrey, alongside older names such as Tacos Primo and Taquería La Mexicana. Its specialty pairs trompo de pastor, the spit-roasted marinated pork that Monterrey calls trompo, with chicharrón de la Ramos, crisp pork cracklings that add crunch to the spit-roasted meat.

The menu also lists suadero, rib eye tacos and an elote atarantado, a dressed corn dish named for the house. The taquería sits on Bulevar Rogelio Cantú Gómez in the Las Lajas area.

Context

Trompo is one of the defining taco styles of Monterrey, alongside the city's other signatures such as bistec, tacos de chicharrón and steamed tacos.
