Tacos Don Pancho

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Don Pancho is a Monterrey breakfast taco chain that began in 1968 as a stand carried around on a motorcycle.

History

According to Monterrey Secreto, Tacos Don Pancho began in 1968 as a traveling stand on a motorcycle. By 2024 it had grown to more than 15 branches; the guide's map shows 19. The business holds the Distintivo H, a food-hygiene certificate issued by Mexico's tourism authorities.

Don Pancho sells tacos mañaneros, and customers can choose flour or corn tortillas. Both are common in Monterrey, where wheat flour tortillas are a long-standing northern staple.

The chain is one of several Monterrey businesses that grew from mobile breakfast stands into multi-branch operations. Others include Tacos Villa de Santiago, which started as a school food cart, and Tony's Tacos.

It is the oldest business in Monterrey Secreto's 2024 list of places for morning tacos.
