Tony's Tacos is a Monterrey breakfast taco chain founded in 1989, selling guisado tacos and barbacoa by the kilo.

Overview

Monterrey Secreto's 2024 guide reports that Tony's Tacos was founded in 1989 and has ten branches. The business promotes itself as offering the highest quality in Monterrey.

Tony's serves tacos mañaneros with more than a dozen guisados. Barbacoa is also sold by the kilo to take home. Menudo, a tripe soup, is offered on Sundays.

In Monterrey, tacos mañaneros are the standard workday breakfast. They are filled with guisados such as barbacoa, chicharrón, deshebrada and picadillo, and served in corn or flour tortillas. Several long-running local chains have grown out of this trade, including Tacos Don Pancho and Tacos Villa de Santiago.

Monterrey Secreto's guide gives no branch addresses. Of the other businesses in that list, only Tacos Don Pancho and Tacos El Güero report earlier founding dates.
