Tacos Memo

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos Memo is a taco placero stall in the San Cosme market in the San Rafael neighborhood of Mexico City.

Overview

Chilango locates Tacos Memo at stalls 68 to 70 of the Mercado San Cosme, entered from Gabino Barreda 18 in San Rafael. It works in the taco placero style, the market format in which cold or room-temperature fillings are laid out on a counter and spooned into tortillas to order. The spread includes moronga (blood sausage), a raw-beef carne tártara, cauliflower tortas, salpicón and carnitas.

The magazine noted that chef Enrique Olvera is a fan. The stall opens on weekday mornings and closes mid-afternoon.

Context

Chilango included it in a list of thirty taquerías every Mexico City resident should know, a selection weighted toward neighborhood places outside the usual tourist circuit. Tacos placeros take their name from the plaza, or market, where they are sold.
