Taquería El Rebaño Sagrado

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Taquería El Rebaño Sagrado is a taquería in Guadalupe Insurgentes, Mexico City, serving birria in the morning and tripe tacos in the afternoon.

Overview

Chilango lists El Rebaño Sagrado at Avenida Necaxa 232 in Guadalupe Insurgentes. The day is split in two: birria tacos in the morning shift and tripa (tripe) tacos in the afternoon and evening shift. It takes cash only.

The name, the Sacred Flock, is the nickname of Chivas de Guadalajara, the Jalisco football club, a fitting reference for a business serving birria, the stewed meat dish of Jalisco.

Context

Chilango included it in a list of thirty taquerías every Mexico City resident should know, a selection weighted toward neighborhood places outside the usual tourist circuit. Splitting the day between a morning specialty and an evening one is common among Mexico City stands.
