Tacos de Cabeza El Hijo del Profe

From WikiTacos, the taco encyclopedia · Taquería

Tacos de Cabeza El Hijo del Profe is a family-run head taco stand in colonia Pemex, south Culiacán, Sinaloa, opened around 2008 by Juan José Nidome Quintero.

Overview

Tus Buenas Noticias tells the story of Juan José Nidome Quintero, who learned the trade from his father, known as El Profe, working beside him for eighteen years at a taquería across from the Secundaria Emancipación in colonia Pemex. After his father's death he was left out of that family business, worked for a year as a laborer, then built his own cart from scrap metal, which he still uses. In 2025 the stand had been operating for seventeen years.

It is located on Calle Hilario Medina near Alberto Terrones. The head meat is cooked slowly for up to four hours, starting at 7 a.m. His daughter Yukiel and his wife work in the business, which supports nine people, and it opens every day except three days of Holy Week.

Context

Culiacán's taco culture is strong on tacos de cabeza, buche and carne asada, many of them sold from carts and family stands that have passed between generations.
