Overview

Monterrey Secreto's 2024 guide to morning tacos lists Taquitos Mode with three branches in the city. It names no street addresses or founding date.

The core of the business is tacos mañaneros, Monterrey's breakfast tacos. They come in about 15 flavors, from classic barbacoa to chile relleno. The menu is broader than at most taco carts. It also includes hamburgers, menudo, caldo de res, tortilla soup, enchiladas, albóndigas (meatballs), tortas and burritos.

Tacos mañaneros are usually sold from carts or small counters early in the day. The fillings are guisados (stews and braises) prepared in advance and served in corn or flour tortillas. Barbacoa, chicharrón and deshebrada are the standard choices.

Monterrey Secreto grouped it with Tacos Villa de Santiago, Tony's Tacos and Tacos Don Pancho, all multi-branch morning taco businesses.
